5 - Part of the work of artists is to experiment, to create and recreate. Study the images on the next page – they are examples of concrete poems produced by Ian Hamilton Finlay.

5.1 Read them and comment:

a) What do they have in common?

RESPOSTA:

a) The two poems are formed through the union of three words: You, me and us.

5.2 Contrast the poems in images I and II and discuss:

a) How different/similar are they?

b) Do these differences create or suggest different meanings?

RESPOSTA:

a) They use the same words to create an idea. The words come in three  different colors to produce a contrast, and to make a identity,  distiguishing "you", "me" and "us".

b) Sim, na imagem 1 a maneira com que as palavras estão entrelaçadas mostra que "nós" é uma combinação das palavras "você" e "eu", já na imagem 2 podemos ver que se o poema for lido tanto de cima para baixo quanto de baixo para cima, as palavras "você e eu" são identidades diferentes, então elas vão se aproximando até formar a palavra "nós" e depois se separam novamente.
